This is the best way to purchase your beef, as you choose the thickness and your cuts.  Our whole purchased steeers are processed on demand, giving you longer freezer time.

Whole steers  are sold by the hanging weight. “Hanging weight” is the term used to describe the weight of a side of beef as it hangs up in a meat cooler with the useable cuts intact. Using a formula we can determine the estimated amount of meat a customer will take home.

To determine that actual take home meat equals approximately 60% of the hanging weight. This is on average, animals do vary. A typical steer will produce a 560lb. hanging carcass weight. Which using the 60% figure will produce 336 lbs. of take home meat. 
The meat is vacuum sealed with about 2 years on freezer time.

Finished steers weigh 900-1100 lb., which will fill a 14-15cubic foot freezer. 
Hanging weight is approx. . 540-660 lb.
Approximently. 60%of the hanging weight will be wrapped and packaged with a end products of approximent.  324 - 400 lb..

Hanging time at the processor is spprox. 21 days.  This helps to tenderize the beef.  Our cuts are vacuum packed, flash froozen and labeled.  We are USDA processed.
